As others have stated here, this is not a roommate matching company. It's a fraudulent scheme simply to collect your personal information, which is likely being sold to other people in the attempt to phish your computer and accounts. All companies promise not to sell or give out your personal info, but hardly any of them entice you to create an account where they ban you access from your profile. Without access to your profile, you cannot update changes, nor can you delete your account and personal info, leaving just your email behind for their records. When you are unable to access the personal information you submitted, nor delete it, it can be sold, even if the company folds and your personal info is sold right along with the company, and for what purposes, you wouldn't know.

If you did a basic search for roommate matching websites, and you found RoomieMatch at the top of the list, keep in mind that there are many marketing companies who solicit these companies and promise to list them first on some recently created "best of roommate services websites" if they are willing to pay a fee. Save yourself the trouble. DO NOT USE ROOMIEMATCH.

Really, don't waste your time. There is nothing good about this.

Answering all the questions to make a profile takes a long time and is a fruitless effort.

Then on day one you will find 50-70 emails from "other subscribers" and their responses to the long profile questionnaire... in plain text. Honestly, who has time to read through that many EIGHT PAGE emails to find a roommate?? EVERYDAY!

That's the thing - these emails don't stop coming! You'll have another 50 emails the next day. And the next. And as far as I can tell, these "subscribers" are just bots, not real people. However, I wouldn't know because in order to respond to any of them, you have to pay RoomieMatch $20, which I thankfully had the wherewithal to decide against.

So, then you try to unsubscribe. Either because you decided you couldn't handle all the obnoxious emails or because you found a roommate through an avenue that actually works (e.g. Craigslist).

Welp, surprise, surprise! You cannot unsubscribe. So you try to contact them, but there is ZERO customer support. So now you're stuck receiving hundreds of emails a week from a bonk "service". Forever.

DO NOT USE THIS site. It claims to help you find a roommate (by sending you the contact information of other's looking for roommates in your area) if you pay $19.95 per year. However, I did not get the matches that I was promised after paying this amount.

I have tried several times to contact someone from their site to get a refund for services that were not rendered and to stop receiving their emails. I have not been able to contact anyone and my emails go ignored. There is no address or phone number listed. I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

In summary, I would not recommend Roomie Match to a friend.

I signed up for Roommiematch.com after looking at several other roommate finder website, signing up for a few and having little luck. Roommiematch.com has you answer specific questions with multiple choice answers to match you with others sharing similar interests and lifestyles.

Instead of having to log into a website, download an app or deal with the search, Roomiematch.com does all the work for you. They match you with other people looking for similar roommate qualities as you. It's not a perfect system but once they have someone that matches you, they send you their profile. The emails start immediately but if you are really interested in contacting the person you need to pay an annual fee of $19.95; which is a steal if you've looked at any of the other online roommate services.

The matches are provided using a percentage to help you gauge how similar you are to the roommate options they send you. I went ahead and deleted anyone who didn't match me at least by 90% and then would read the profiles to see how they answered the questions. Some questions are fill in the blank and those answers... I gave 3 starts on some of boxes only because how good they scammed me out of my 20$
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

You are better off spending that 20 dollars on drugs or a crate of snacks.

As everyone else has stated, at first you receive a small batch of highly enticing matches that seem very ideal. But what is the catch? NO CONTACT INFO...WELL DAG NAMIT!

So you are stuck between a rock and a hard spot. Should you just let your info circulate and hope SOMEONE you want will swoop in and save you. Or bite the bullet and pay the measly 20 bucks to get the numbers and do the labor work yourself?

Luckily someone did the enticing for me. I got a text and email in a day or so about someone wanting to add me to there lease, but the catch is it cost just the amount you want to pay, in an area you don't care for. I decline and follow up by asking how I can contact other matches (this is where I screwed up). So he follows up by saying cool, you might have to become A MEMBER to get the the contacts.... After being on this site for one week, I realized it was simply in the business for making money. You can't see your profile , you can't see their profile. You have no way to contact the other person , Nobody contacts you. They are not truly matches they're just people looking many of which are in another state . The site is not user-friendly. They claim it's your privacy that they're protecting , but I think it's the other way around.

I consider it a waste of money and time and effort . I would not recommend this site . They have a bad BBB rating so that means many people have been dissatisfied

This site sends lots of matches initially, making one think there are lots of great options, but you'll spend time weeding through poorly matched profiles ( really? matching an 18 yr old black male with a 50 yr old white female? Neither end is going to think that's a good match)

Age ranges aren't a choice. You either pick your exact age range, or all ages. So, if you're on the cusp of a range, like, for example, you're 39, and and don't mind a housemate who's 41, but don't want a housemate who's 18, then too bad. You either choose those who're 30-40, eliminating the 41 yr old, or you choose everyone, including the 18 yr old.

Even getting to the pertinent info in the profiles is time-consuming, as you first have to scroll through their math, looking at the percentages of a match in each category. The categories have a lot of overlap, though, and are not accurately labeled. "how you keep yourself" is misleading, and there are too many questions about cleanliness and order, which could be covered in one or two questions.

I reviewed the site before I signed up. It sounded legit. I received the first batch of emails and thought wow lots of matches. So I paid $20 to receive contact info and was bombarded with even more matches, but not within the area I needed. I received about 100 emails almost every other day and age and gender preferences didn't match! I've emailed twice to remove me from the service, but 0 reply and I still keep getting matches. I'm going to dispute this with my credit card company and would advise anyone who has paid to do the same.

They ask a bunch of questions then send you matches that don't fit ar meet basic criteria.
they don't let you prioritise major issues; e.g. drug use, minimum rent, smoking, and send matches that are a complete waste of time.
then they're rude and arrogant.
when you try to get them to ACTUALLY match to your requests and profile, they tell you you're in the wrong place.
complete GARBAGE.

Firstly I tried the one. Received 157 e-mails.
Then I decided to narrow my search, and placed some filters for my rommates, such as females, already owning a house, and paid 20 Dollars for it.
Then I received the SAME 157 profiles, with men, couples, people who didnt have a house.
The other thing is, EVEN if it were a legit company, there is no way you can search for the profiles, have photos. Its all about receiving tons of emails.
I reached them complaining and requesting my money back, never heard from them
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
